Kansas City, Mo. – Three local business leaders have been recognized as 2021 Enterprising Women of the Year, an annual tribute to the world’s top women entrepreneurs.
The three award-winning women are Melea McRae, founder and CEO of the “un-agency” marketing firm Crux KC (Kansas City, Missouri); Angie Beerup, the co-founder and co-owner of home builder and seller Elevate Design + Build (Blue Springs, Missouri); and Karen Mills, the founder and CEO of architectural design firm Interiors by Design (Leawood, Kansas).
The Enterprising Women of the Year Award is hosted annually by Enterprising Women Magazine, a quarterly publication based in Cary, North Carolina. As the nation’s only woman-owned magazine published exclusively for women business owners, Enterprising Women Magazine chronicles the growing political, economic and social influence of female entrepreneurs.
To win, nominees must demonstrate they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities. Winners are categorized and tiered based on annual company revenue.
“I’m incredibly honored to be recognized alongside so many other deserving female leaders,” McRae said. “Women’s entrepreneurship is a cause that’s not only important to me personally, but also vital to the core of any business community. I’m grateful for Enterprising Women Magazine’s dedication to this cause and their thoughtful recognition of Kansas City’s female entrepreneurs.”
Honorees will be recognized at the 19th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration & Conference, to be held from Nov. 14 – Nov. 16 at the Wyndham Grand in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
