Applications Open for 2025 Crux for a Cause

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Crux KC has officially opened applications for its annual Crux for a Cause program, granting $50,000 of pro-bono marketing services to two deserving nonprofit organizations in Kansas City.

Since its inception in 2020, Crux for A Cause (CFAC) has helped a wide range of nonprofit organizations enhance their marketing efforts and extend their reach. Previous beneficiaries of this program include People of All Colors Succeed, KC Shepherd’s Center, Kanbe’s Markets and What if Puppets. In 2024, Crux showed its increased commitment by selecting two organizations, WeCode KC and Child Abuse Prevention Association resulting in a $100,000 investment into their philanthropic efforts.

“We’ve seen first-hand the impact of Crux for a Cause on its recipients over the past four years, and we are excited to offer our services again to Kansas City’s broad nonprofit network,” said Melea McRae, Founder & CEO of Crux. “As we open our applications for Crux for a Cause 2025, we look forward to reaching even more nonprofits and creating new connections across our city.”

While all nonprofits are encouraged to apply, Crux specifically aims to assist organizations from downtown Kansas City that lack strong marketing support in-house. Crux’s work with nonprofit client partners has earned awards including Nonprofit Connect Philly Awards for KC Shepherd’s Center, KC Common Good, Linda Hall Library and Young Friends of the Kansas City Public Library, as well as Public Relations Society of America PRISM awards for KC Common Good and The Pinnacle Prize. In 2022, Nonprofit Connect honored Crux with its prestigious Community Champion award for its outstanding work with multiple organizations.

Applications for Crux for a Cause are open now and the last day to apply is Oct. 31, 2024. Recipients will be announced in January 2025. Interested nonprofits can apply at cause.cruxkc.com.
