Violent crime in Kansas City had reached unprecedented levels, leaving residents, businesses and community organizations searching for answers. KC Common Good, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing the root causes of violence, posed a critical question: “What can we collectively do to make our city safer?”
They envisioned a city-wide campaign to unite stakeholders—from residents and law enforcement to city officials and businesses—around actionable steps to reduce violent crime. To bring this vision to life, KC Common Good needed a marketing partner capable of creating a cohesive strategy, building engagement across platforms and amplifying the campaign’s reach.
Crux collaborated with KC Common Good to launch Play Your Part, a comprehensive movement to inspire community-wide action and foster partnerships aimed at addressing the root causes of violence. The campaign emphasized prevention, intervention, enforcement, re-entry support and social services, creating a multi-faceted approach to crime reduction.
