Crux communications help KC Shepherd’s Center raise nearly $100,000 in donations.
KC Shepherd’s Center (KCSC) is a nonprofit providing programs, leadership and advocacy to help older adults live healthy, engaged and independent lives. In preparation for its annual 70 Over 70 Awards Celebration, KCSC called on Crux to generate awareness and mobilize a committed audience of donors to raise funds ahead of its virtual event.
Crux developed a social media, email and PR strategy and designed pre-packaged fundraising kits to distribute among KCSC’s staff, donors and the event’s 70 honorees. The kits included graphics and content for KCSC and its supporters to use in fundraising appeals on social media and via email and text message. Crux designed a custom Facebook profile picture frame for participants to share with donors, as well as a refreshed event logo.
Thanks to a groundswell of grassroots support, KCSC not only reached its fundraising goal before the date of the event – it doubled the previous year’s total, bringing in nearly $100,000 in donations. KCSC is already looking to next year, which marks the organization’s 50th anniversary and the 5th anniversary of the 70 Over 70 awards program, and because Crux designed the kits so they could be updated and replicated with minimal effort, KCSC is well on its way to another successful event.
